40 Change in event schedule
Date: 19/09/2011
Cir. No. 2011-12/40

Dear Parents,

30th September’11 will be a half day since it is the last working day of the month.  3rd and 4th of October are the two sandwiched working days between Sunday, 2nd October and 5th & 6th October (holidays declared for Dussera).  Many parents and teachers have expressed a desire to avail a holiday on 4th October since it is Ashtami.  We have therefore decided that we will keep the School closed on 3rd and 4th October and link it with 5th & 6th October. In lieu we will be working full day on the second Saturday i.e. 8th October.  After the Diwali break , we will be re-opening on Monday,  7th November’11 instead of Tuesday, 8th November’11 as shown in the diary.  In this way we will make up the two holidays taken during Dussera.

We wish to also inform you about a few changes in the schedule of important events.  Since the School has grown, we need to put up 2 Concerts so as to accommodate the maximum number of children.

  • The Senior Concert will be staged on Saturday, 19th November’11
  • Funfair has been shifted to 10th December’11
  • The Sports Day will remain as scheduled i.e. on 21st January’12.
  • The Lower Primary Concert will be staged on Saturday 4th February’12.

Kindly note the dates have not been changed - only the events have been rearranged so as to facilitate the participation of our Std X & XII Board children.

With best wishes,

SMILE FOUNDATION

We would like to introduce Smile Foundation as a national level development organization and the producer of the award winning film I am Kalam.

The central plot of I am Kalam was conceptualised after the Right to Education Act was enforced. The film is a contemporary fable like narrative of the friendship between a young prince and a young boy, the same age as him, but who is subject to poverty and is forced to work to earn for his family. The film is about how the young prince empathises with the sufferings and dreams of his friend and makes his best effort to help him get a better future.

At Smile Foundation we have been sensitizing privileged children in schools across India about the plight of their underprivileged counterparts so that they start counting their own blessings. Because we believe that once they start realising the worth of the privileges they are born with, they automatically turn their thoughts towards positivity which eventually helps them to develop into productive and successful individuals who also contribute responsibly and positively towards the society.
And we are positive that I am Kalam, through its entertainment, emotions and humour, will be able to convey to the children this important message.

The film is now ready for a nationwide theatrical release on August 05, 2011. And being a part of the educational system of the country yourself, we request you to provide support to the film by sensitizing the students of your school about the film and encouraging them to go and positively watch the film.

I am Kalam has been honoured with several awards including 1 National Award and various International Awards

This earnest effort of Smile Foundation has taken the form of an extraordinary film and we wish to make use of this opportunity to deliver a very important message. And your support and encouragement will be invaluable.

We will be inviting resource persons and different experts  from time to time to ensure that the best training and guidance is made available to the students.  A sum of Rs. 350/- will be charged for Club Activities for this academic year.  The amount is to be submitted to the respective Class Teacher latest by 25th April’11

4 Change in timings
Date: 21/04/2011
Cir. No. 2011-12/05

Dear Parents,

The CBSE has directed that the new academic year in all CBSE Schools is to start in the month of April, in view of this the new term begins from the first week of April.  We understand and appreciate that the third and the fourth week of April becomes extremely hot and therefore our children find it difficult to stay in School in the afternoons. We have had a meeting with the students and teachers and have decided that the School timings will be from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm w.e.f Monday, 25th April’11 to Friday, 29th April’11.  However in the month of June with the advent of the monsoon, it will become cooler and the School will work from 7:30 to 1:50 pm as per the usual timings.

Kindly make the necessary arrangements to pick up your ward at 12:30 pm.   Buses will be running accordingly.

Regards,
